Encourage.

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another”

 John 13:34

Grief can feel isolating—but we were never meant to walk through it alone.

At Story of Hope, we believe in the power of connection.. Our Encourage pillar is focused on providing warm, inviting spaces where widows can come together to laugh, connect, and simply be themselves—free from pressure, expectations, or pretense. Whether it’s a large seasonal gathering, a festive craft night, a fun game night, or an unexpected note in the mail, we create meaningful moments that offer comfort, community, and a heartfelt reminder that each woman is seen, valued, and deeply loved.

Events That Foster Friendship

We host regular social gatherings designed specifically for widows—spaces where they can relax, exhale, and connect with others who truly understand their journey. These events aren’t therapy sessions or formal programs—they’re simply life-giving moments where widows can be themselves and build genuine friendships.

Some of our favorite gatherings include:

  • Brunches & Coffee Mornings

  • Craft Nights & Game Nights

  • Holiday Celebrations & Seasonal Events

  • Casual Socials Just for Fun.

Each event is low-pressure and full of grace. There’s no need to “have it all together”—just come as you are and know you’ll be met with kindness.

Personal Encouragement, One Touchpoint at a Time

Not every widow is ready—or able—to attend an event right away, and we wholeheartedly honor that. We begin intentionally walking alongside a widow once she’s joined us for her first event, but our commitment to encouragement extends far beyond event attendance.

Whether it’s a handwritten card on a tender day, a thoughtful text, or a check-in from a care team member, we continue to show up—gently, consistently, and without expectation. Encouragement can take many forms: a quiet prayer, a shared laugh, or simply a reminder that she’s not alone.

These small gestures may seem simple, but for a widow navigating a difficult season, they can mean the world.

Faith at the Center

While many of our events are simply social, our foundation is deeply rooted in Christ. Through every gathering and connection, we aim to reflect His love and remind each woman that hope is still possible—and that God has not forgotten her.

Above all, our goal is to foster an atmosphere of grace where faith and friendship come together naturally.

  • Story of Hope helped me connect with other women walking the same path. I quickly realized I wasn’t alone on this journey. Through this ministry, I’ve met some truly wonderful ladies who have become some of my dearest friends. The events that Story of Hope sponsors are a true blessing—to me and to so many others navigating this season of life. I am deeply grateful for this organization
